KNUST Inducts New Doctors |

THE COUNTRY’S inadequate doctor to patient ratio was given a major boost on Saturday, following the induction of 115 doctors by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Medical School. The newly-inducted doctors, which included 58 females and 57 males, underwent six years of theoretical studies at the university and two years’ housemanship at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

But for the intervention of a man of God, the host of Kessben Fm’s drive time, Daniel Owusu Aduomi aka ‘Danny boy’, would have been killed last Tuesday evening at the Santaasi taxi rank in Adum Kumasi. Danny Boy was on his way home when a young man believed to be in his early twenties accused him of being a member of an armed robbery group. The young man claimed the robbery group had recently robbed him and that Danny Boy was part of the group. |

Supporters of Mr Alan Kyeremateng, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have condemned the formation of the United Front Party (UFP) in Ashanti Region. The supporters, who are in the Western Region, claimed that the UFP was targeting those who supported Mr Kyeremateng in his bid to win the NPP flagbearership. |

THE ADAGE that ‘wonders shall never end’ was demonstrated at Tafo, a suburb of Kumasi, yesterday morning, when a woman believed to be in her late twenties allegedly turned into a snake. The information virtually caused a stampede at the Tafo District Police command when residents trooped to the scene to catch a glimpse of the ‘snake woman.’ Abena Agyeiwaa, a native of Mampong in the Ashanti region, turned into a big black cobra at about 7:30 am at Tafo Mile Four. |
